Every single time I visit the Crabtree's Kittle House Restaurant & Inn it’s always an experience beyond just dinner. It’s a beautiful restaurant with an amazing staff. They make it so special.
Knowledgable and always friendly, I questioned the glassware on a wine and the server knew the answer immediately without hesitation. I was so impressed with that because that means someone in there is going through every detail of service, and I am sure that person is, Leo, the sommelier/manager.
Leo has been with Crabtree’s Kittlehouse for quite some time. He always approaches my table and says hello, usually followed by some “wine talk” and always has something amazing for me to taste. He just knows this business. You can tell that its in his veins. His knowledge of wine is beyond impressive and you can see how much he loves it, too.
After dinner, we did a side-by-side tasting of Pinot Noir. First was a stunning, Michel Sarrazin Givry “Sous la Roche” 2017 that had notes of black cherry, cranberry, mushroom and forest floor. Next was a 2005 W.H. Smith Wines "Maritime Vineyard" from the Sonoma Coast, CA. What an absolute beauty! It showed layers of strawberry, cherry cola, and licorice. Tasting wines made from the same grape, from two completely different growing conditions and soils, literally are a world of difference. Both were wonderful and a pleasure to drink!
Thank you for always making the night so great ✨
