Went to a 2014 Bordeaux tasting last night with Tom Holton’s ‘s wine tasting group at Harper's Restaurant & Bar. Each one of them were fantastic! Many of us agreed that Château Pape Clément - Grand Cru Classé de Graves was the hit of the evening. Red-cherry, blackfruit and the floral notes were beautiful. I picked up on the flowers in the finish that sealed the deal for me. Absolutely loved it!!
The food at Harper’s was on point! I had the mushroom toast appetizer that easily serves two people. The server warned me but I was just so hungry I didn’t care. For the entree I had the Bavette steak with brussells sprouts and hazelnut which was a perfect match to the wines. It went to another level when the flavors started to pair with each other which was interesting. I love paying attention to the chemistry of it all. Really great stuff!
