I dream of the day I will drink this wine! My dearest friend, Robin, gifted me and my husband this bottle when we got married. Its Marqués de Murrieta Castillo Ygay White Gran Reserva Especial 1986 from Rioja, Spain.

The grapes varieties are 97% Viura and 3% Malvasia. This wine was aged for 21 years in American oak barriques and a little over 5 years in concrete tanks. Only 8,125 of these bottles have been released. Since its first vintage in 1919, only 11 vintages have been selected for the Gran Reserva Blanco.

So, when do I drink it? Who knows! It will be so hard to choose the right moment for such a treasure. Maybe our 10 year anniversary?
