How did I get so lucky?
Last night I went to a “Blanton’s and Beef” dinner hosted by @ackerdistilled at Bobby Van’s Park Ave in NYC. Here I am with Acker’s Director of Spirits, Ethan R. Kelley who knew how to put together an amazing crowd.
The lineup was intense! I tasted through seven different labels: Blanton’s Black 1994, Blanton’s Red Ink 1986, Blanton’s Red Ink 1990, Blanton’s Takara Red 1992, Blanton’s Takara Gold 2020, Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel 2006, and Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel 2020.
My favorites were the “Straight from the Barrel” labels. With intense cherry, oak, caramel, nuttiness and spice. It’s exactly what I want from a Bourbon!
